Working successfully within a team, the Systems Engineer will participate in requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification) in the development and evaluation of networks and information systems.
Representative Duties and Tasks
Maintain project databases
Support requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test verification in an Agile environment
Update the requirements, test procedure, design documentation, and traceability of legacy, current, and future system capabilities
Supports the generation and delivery of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects
Working with systems engineering, software, integration, test, and logistics team members to meet the team objectives and milestones
Frequent contact with external customers
Travel may be required
What you bring to the table:
A Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required; Agile experience preferred
Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories
Familiarity with technical standards
Proficency in Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and JIRA
Showing initiative on assignments and exercising independent judgment as appropriate
Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments
What sets you apart:
Proficiency with requirements management & system modeling tools
Proficiency with managing a Rational DOORS database: Creating new modules, creating attributes and views consistently across the database, managing linksets, managing permissions at the database/module/attribute levels, creating and managing accounts, and troubleshooting user issues
Ability to generate new or modify existing DOORS DXL scripts to support engineering activities
