The Burlington High School Drama department is looking for a Tech Director for the 2022-2023 School year

The tech director is in charge of many things and often involves parents in certain aspects of construction at certain times. This person must be able to teach, have a sense of humor, have patience and be willing to listen and compromise. This person must also be able to design tasks for students to work on during a session. Often that means breaking things down so that everyone is busy or learning or looking or organizing during a session.

The Tech Director would be in charge of tech for the Musical, One Acts, and Three Act plays throughout the year.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the stage

Orienting staff and students to the location of items such as paint, lumber, props, costumes, furniture, etc.

Setting, explaining, and enforcing safety rules

Oversight and education in use of tools for prop and set creation and breakdown

Comfort with use of power tools

Oversight of lights, sound, set, and all things tech related prior to, through, and after the show(s)

Communicating with Director, students, and families

Coordinating rentals of lights and sound equipment from local vendors as needed

Other duties as otherwise assigned
