Job Title: School Based COVID: Test to Stay Health Assistants

The Burlington School District (BSD) is currently seeking individuals who are interested in helping support the BSD’s K-6 grade COVID Vermont Agency of Education(AOE) State’s Test to Stay program on an on-call basis during the hours of 7:30 to 11:30 am Monday through Friday.

ANTICIPATED HOURS:

A minimum of 4 hours up to 20 hours weekly; must be able to work in-person on-call Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for support of Test to Stay testing that occurs after a contact traced case in the schools.

PAY RATE:

$20.50/hour, part-time, on-call, per diem work, temporary, non-exempt, not eligible for overtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the District Lead Nurse in organizing and implementing the testing program.

Complete “CIC Health” Training program in accordance with CLIA waiver

Assist in the promotion of the program with the school community.

Available to answer questions from staff and parents regarding testing protocols.

Participate in training to conduct swabs for both Rapid Antigen and PCR tests.

Execute testing protocol with assigned staff members at a BSD school.

May be asked to support more than one testing site on the day of testing.

Support the nurse’s office as needed on testing day.

Communicate any health and safety issues to the District Lead Nurse.

Other duties and responsibilities within the scope of practice and as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficient Computer Literacy or office administration experience preferred.

Must successfully complete required training: Clia Waiver Training, Proper Protective Equipment, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Coronavirus - What You Need to Know.

A High School Diploma or equivalent with proficiency to read English at a minimum of a 10-grade level is required.

Proficient computer skills and/or office administration experience preferred; Medical Assistant, Nursing, and/or EMT experience welcome but not required.

Must complete the District’s background check and fingerprinting screen prior to employment, and be found eligible for employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to

alternate between sitting and standing frequently.

Must be able to

walk about on foot across changing surfaces both inside and outside.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to s

eize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with the hand(s) frequently.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment continuously.

Must be able to

lift and load an object by raising or lowering the object from one level to another, including making an upward pulling motion and carrying an object to transport it while holding it in the hands or arms frequently.

Must be able to crouch and kneel occasionally.

Must be able to climb and descend ramps or stairs occasionally.

Must be able to express and exchange information in oral format.

Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds continuously.

Must be able to have clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print) frequently.

Reports to and evaluated by the District Lead Nurse
