SUMMARY: The expectations of this position is to lead and direct a team of hourly employees in the collection of biological sample data from chickens at Cobb pedigree farms to achieve genetic gain and competitive advantage as established with R D Leadership. The essential functions of this position include; supervise and coordinate sample collection and quality at pedigree farms; collect and collate biotech sample data; maintain inventory availability at each pedigree farm; communicate and liaise with farm and biotech management.
REQUIREMENTS: Education Experience: College degree or equivalent experience with limited experience.
Accountability Role: Entry-level professional position responsible for supervising an individual or small group of non-exempt TMs i.e. – clerical, administrative and production; includes providing training, monitoring work quality, coaching Team Members on performance and responsible for the quality of results produced by the team. Can work independently with the ability to evaluate alternatives under circumstances that are not covered by written procedures.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in data collection and management through Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
Supervisory : A team of 3-5 hourly positions.
Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species like chicken’s, ducks, and birds. The Company’s Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in all Cobb Farm Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: When visiting facilities Team Member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
Covid 19: At Cobb-Vantress, the safety of our team members is our top priority. For that reason, successful applicants for this position must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their 45th day of employment. Successful applicants will need to show proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on or before their start date.
Mask policy will be in accordance with any local, state, or federal requirements but will be provided to any Team Member wishing to wear a mask.
