THE TEAM

Zuora’s Billing Operations team acts as the gatekeepers of revenue & platform data. We have the unique experience of being “customer zero” - whereby we use our own software to manage contracts and turn them into subscriptions. Ensuring the accuracy of all that data means long month-end days, but the finance team as a whole has cultivated a supportive team dynamic.

YOUR MISSION:

As more and more companies move towards offering subscription based services, Zuora is striving to stay at the forefront of that marketplace. As as member of the payroll team, you will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily data entry Payroll processing. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offer career development opportunities for the right candidate.

Reimplementation - We’re moving from a legacy version of our software onto the latest and greatest Zuora Offering. This role will be instrumental in getting processes documentation in place for operating on the new system.

How will the work contribute to and impact larger company objectives?

Evolve our team into the industry standard of subscription billing efficiency and revenue recognition.

What kind of tools and technologies does your team currently utilize?

We heavily leverage our own instance of Zuora Billing and Revenue, as well as the full Google & Microsoft application suites and a gamut of SalesForce CRM applications.

Migration, major implementation process, implementing new processes, SOX audit compliance

This role puts you “In the trenches” where you can get a full understanding of how Zuora operates it’s quote-to-revenue business process while also having visibility to upper management and decision makers who decide where the company is headed next.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

Process all payroll including (but not limited to) scheduled semi-monthly US payrolls for both salaried and hourly employees, bonus, commission, and off-cycle payroll run (RSU).

Audit and prepare for scheduled semi-monthly payroll during the payroll cycle.

Create and maintain folders for each payroll run including supporting backup and software reports.

Review HR PI files and upload in ADP. Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.

Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

Review and audit all changes to payroll and file backup with each run.

Collaborate with third party service team to complete the international tax filing on timely manner

Responsible for ADP Time Attendant system updates and employee setup, provide the accurate time sheet report for semi-monthly payroll.

Review timesheet entries for discrepancies i.e. missed hours, excessive over-time, missed punches and missed lunch breaks.

Responsible for employee questions with regards to payroll and payments etc.

Collaborate with HR team, Production, Operations, and accounting teams.

Prepare payroll and labor analysis reports for upper management, finance, FP&A, and accounting department etc. as needed and upon request.

Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

As required, contact payroll software technical support to address any issues or to research changes to procedures

Understanding payroll GL and payroll accounting no experience required

Experienced with month end closing process and reconciled payroll accounts

Maintain payroll process is compliance with company internal control and SOX policy

Understand the state, local tax filing requirements, collaborate with team for state tax registration

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

BSc/BA in Business, Accounting, or related field; professional certification preferred but not required

1-2 years’ experience processing multi-state payroll

Hands on knowledge of payroll best practices

Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Office etc.

Proven experience as a payroll specialist, coordinator, or similar role

Familiarity with payroll software ADP Workforce Now (Workday, NetSuite, Blackline)

A keen eye for detail with excellent attention to detail

An analytical mind and good math & excel skills

Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)

Multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material is a MUST

Proven record to communicate with various levels of management

Strong work ethic and team player

Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
