Job Description:

This position is part-time, and the work schedule will average less than 30 hours per work week. This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. It reports to the maintenance department of the facility. This position is responsible for the upkeep of the facility, which includes: landscaping, painting, snow removal, mowing, trimming, weed eating, pulling weeds, picking up trash, triple rinsing barrels/totes, pipe insulation, concrete/masonry work, and any other assignments given by management. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, working in high areas, pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting 80 pounds or more, reaching with the use of hands and arms above shoulder level and walk and stand up to 10 hours a day, are required in all areas. These positions work in cold, damp or hot and humid environments and these areas have slippery walking surfaces. Use of both non-powered and powered equipment/tools such as, lawn mowers, weed eaters, drills, saws.

Requirements:

Applicants are required to submit a resume to include all work history with dates and education. High school diploma or GED. Experience or training in the following areas is preferred: concrete/masonry, carpentry, pipe insulation, painting and plumbing. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from Hourly to Upper Management. Must be able to read manuals and printed directions to repair equipment and work around/use cleaners, solvents and paints. Must be willing and able to stand 8 to 12 hours a day on hard floors. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; wearing all safety equipment required. All positions will be for A (day) shift. The department runs 7 days a week, with most work scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays. All job offers are based on conditions that the candidate can pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post-offer health assessment. Mechanical aptitude, skills and experience preferred, but not required. Applicants who have worked for Tyson previously will not be considered.
